This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong background in the marine sector with emphasis on dredging; pile driving, dock & jetty build & repair, foreshore stabilization and other related functions. This well established and successful organization is searching for a Marine Specialist willing to work for several years as an understudy learning their methods of doing business while preparing to transition to a career role as manager of marine operations.

The position will be based in Vancouver with projects on the Fraser River & includes some travel to other BC coastal marine sites from Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert.

Responsibilities include coordinating other Contractors, supervising a small employee group & directing larger temporary work forces. An effective Leadership style and ‘people skills’ are key attributes. The successful candidate must have an experience-based knowledge of this business and be able to work effectively with Clients. Knowledge of costs associated with various approaches to projects, competitive capabilities and industry needs & trends make for a solid background.
