Job Description This position reports to Engineering Support Supervisor and will be responsible for providing design agent services and technical support to minor warships and auxiliary vessels.
Responsibilities Perform engineering and mechanical/marine systems studies, design, failure investigations and analysis, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
Prepare engineering change specifications.
Provide Computer Aided Drafting services.
Requirements Marine Draftsperson with one year’s marine / offshore design experience.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD & MS Office.
Knowledge of Rhino drawing software, structures, HVAC and Lloyd’s Rules would be beneficial.
Knowledge of principals of naval architecture is considered to be an asset.
Working knowledge of the major Classification society Rules, SOLAS and Transport Canada.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizing abilities with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ship construction/repair experience is an asset.
Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
Able to obtain required security clearance.
