WORK OFFSHORE NOVA SCOTIA

SBM Nova Scotia Contractors Inc. is the owner and operator of the Deep Panuke natural gas platform, for our client Encana. Our parent company, SBM Offshore N.V., established in 1959, is a pioneer in the offshore oil and gas industry. Worldwide we have over 9,600 employees spread over five main execution centres, 11 operational shore bases, several construction yards and onboard our offshore fleet. The Operations Division has over 1,800 employees who expertly operate the world's largest global fleet of offshore leased production facilities.

We are looking for an experienced Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to effectively manage all offshore activities. As the most senior offshore position, the OIM is responsible to ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with our Management System and all applicable laws and regulations.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Oversee all activities taking place onboard the PFC, ensuring safety of personnel and protection of the environment and equipment;
• Effectively manage the offshore team of employees and contractors by providing leadership and direction through direct reports;
• Act as Person in Charge in the event of an emergency;
• Provide Unit Manger with regular updates on day to day operations and other operational issues;
• Liaise with Client representatives to manage day to day production and proactively resolve issues to maximize uptime;
• Ensure incidents are investigated and reported properly;
• Monitor and report on production targets and other KPIs;
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Shorebase personnel;
• Ensure crew competence through completion of required training, reading and assessment;
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with the maintenance program;
• Exercise effective document control in accordance with Management System requirements;
• Ensure timely closeout of audit items;
• Ensure change management procedures are appropriately applied;
• Manage Permit-to-Work system, associated risk assessment and verification procedure;
• Manage operations to maintain effective cost control and promote cost awareness in others;
• Communicate reports and information in a timely and effective manner;
• Coordinate and actively participate in emergency response exercises.

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years' as OIM plus appropriate period as acting/deputy OIM;
• 10+ years' experience working in an oil and/or gas processing facility;
• Sour gas processing experience is considered an asset;
• Completion of Management of Major Emergency and Person in Charge Assessment;
• Extensive knowledge of offshore operations including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety Management;
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Atlantic Canada Offshore Medical Fitness for Work, Basic Survival Training certification and negative drug & alcohol screen;
• High level of commercial awareness;
• Must be legally able to work in Canada.

This is a rotational position. The exact rotation will be confirmed dependent upon operational needs at the time of hire, but will be either 3 or 4 weeks on followed by an equal number of nights off. We offer a competitive compensation package which includes base salary, short-term incentive, medical, dental and disability insurance and a Group RRSP. Candidates may live anywhere in Canada; travel is paid for by SBM.
