The stationary engineman acts as a technical resource to various engineering departments such as maintenance, facilities as well as test cells. He also provides technical assistance to production departments for tasks that relate to equipment under his responsibilities.
This person will also operate, verify and when needed, perform or assist at performing maintenance on the following equipment:

Operate and maintain boilers with their distribution networks and sub-systems, Including return condensate vessels, pumps, steam traps and return condensate tank etc.
Operate and manage air compressors, air dryers, fire sprinklers and fire pump house systems, as well as all distribution networks.
Operate and maintain the cold and hot domestic water systems, tanks and corresponding networks
Operate and maintain heating, ventilation and Air conditioning (HVAC) & refrigeration systems along with conduits and distributed controls.
Operation the emergency generators
Executes a series of small works within his (her) competency limits, Example: wall painting, steam network repairs, roof leak containment, cafeteria equipment, repair door knobs, etc.
Act as a contractor site superintendent and coordinator, Example: HVAC contractors.
Good knowledge of building management systems such as Metasys (Johnson Controls) for building controls and Cerberus Pyrotronics (Siemens) for fire panels ? or equivalent.
Participate in the Lockout Tagout process for production and facility equipment.
First responder for Equipment failure and Andon alarms to rectify minor issues and identify and call the appropriate trade required for unresolved issues.
Performs safety rounds and light interventions on the waste water treatment systems to contain an incident.
Assists other maintenance trades within the limits of the collective agreement (example: plumbers, electricians, mechanics, etc.)
Assists in the monitoring of construction work sites with facilities or production equipment engineering project managers.
Manage and execute required actions for programs that pertain to the control of legionella whilst maintaining relevant data logs.
Manages the inventory and orders chemicals required to operate the boilers & upkeep the legionella program, whilst maintaining the boiler room logbook.
Provides building management services to Siemens in accordance with the contractual obligations of Rolls-Royce.
Provides assistance for the management of natural gas systems and piping networks, diesel & jet fuel tanks and networks, hydrogen and argon tanks and networks, for Test beds and production etc. Rolls-Royce is a Military Friendly Employer.
