Marine Engineer
Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation - Lake Winnipeg, MB

Reporting to the Captain of the Vessel Poplar River on Lake Winnipeg, the engineer is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of the barge electrical and mechanical system.

Key Accountabilities:
Maintains the vessel in a state of readiness at all times by performing routine maintenance and conducting repairs as required.
Oversee and maintain vessel systems including engineering and deck, following preventative maintenance program on a daily and monthly basis.
Keep barge maintenance records, inventories, and proposals for maintenance and repair projects.
Start up and winterization of the vessel.
Ensure required tools are available and organized.
Check, test, and maintain automatic controls and alarm systems.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must have Transport Canada Fourth Class Engineer Certification
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift 25kgs.
Willing to take all training provided for the position.
Willing to work variable hours in a marine environment.
