Location: St. John's
Business Unit: Teekay Offshore Logistics
Department: TOL - Shuttle Operation
Reports to: Head of Shuttle Operation / Head of Shuttle Tanker Business

We have recently established offices in St. John’s to manage the Grand Bank Crude Oil transportation solution for Newfoundland and Labrador. As we are further extending our operations, there is now an opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional who want to contribute to the success of Teekay.

Are you ready for an exciting new challenge as a Fleet and Office Manager in our St. John’s office?

The Fleet & Office Manager is responsible for ensuring safe shuttle tanker operations to the highest operational standards as well as managing the local office.
We expect extensive leadership, project management and problem solving capabilities, in addition to the ability to drive the performance of the teams ashore and at sea.
As responsible for the shuttle tanker fleet in East Coast Canada, you are working closely with our customers, while being responsible for the technical ship management.
Major Responsibilities
• Ensure that safety and environmental compliance are treated as a top priority
• With input from shuttle support groups and the ship team, develop plans and budget
• Drive vessel acceptance and vetting performance
• Ensure effective planning, coordination and documentation of technical maintenance, inspections, dry-docks and major repairs, including planning and follow up of on-site supervision
• Ensure high operational performance
• Establish effective work relations and communication with shore and ship staff, support functions and other relevant parties.
• In co-ordination with HR Marine, ensure that our sea staff is qualified, committed to operational leadership, and high performing
• Drive and follow up HSEQ initiatives, being a key player in incident reviews
• Conduct risk and performance reviews in accordance to company expectations and management system
• Follow up with classification societies and external authorities as necessary on vessel technical matters
• Ensure clear and efficient communication with the fleet in respect of the technical operation
• Act as charterer contact and focal point in performance and technical meetings for operational issues

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Analytical, problem solving and project management skills
• Demonstrates leadership capabilities such as teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Education and experience as a marine engineer or alternatively higher technical education with relevant background.
• Experience in a ship management position
• Knowledge of technical ship operations and a keen interest to learn new technology
• Fluent in English, both oral and written

I might add that I have found that TK have a very high standard.
Discourage incest, ban country "music".
