Contract

Tasks

Fully understand contractual design specification of the project
Attend meetings with shipyard, especially with the design department
Outline scope of and divisions of work between all parties
Prepare/ support/ read project schedules, scope documents and scope splits between involved companies
Responsible to prepare all Change Order proposals and implementing the Change Order after customer agreement is secured.
Manage project changes and change orders together with Order Management in Augsburg
Support the procurement process including coordinating with sub suppliers for equipment purchased in Canada
Monitoring of design activities to ensure corporate construction standards are met
Ensure compliance with safety and QA programs
Provide input to proposals, estimates and budgets
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project
Sets and manages client expectations, develops relationships, and communicates effectively with clients to identify
Schedules and conducts coordination, design review and project progress review meetings, both internal and with the customer, and ensures that minutes of meetings are duly completed.
Ensures good communication with the project management, including update of the periodic reports, and participates in monthly Project Review meetings.

Requirements

Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
High degree of skill and efficiency using MS-Project and MS-Office software products
Marine education in Engineering related field required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of MAN products
Deep technical knowledge in terms of ship systems (Fuel Oil, Exhaust Gas, Cooling Water, Compressed Air)
Willingness to relocate to Vancouver for a period of 9-15 months
Ability in managing several tasks; Flexibility, Tact and diplomacy; Abilities to conduct meetings and make presentations
