3rd Engineer

Offshore Recruiting Services Inc (ORSI) along with its client Subsea 7 are currently seeking to identify qualified and experienced offshore personnel for a 2017 Offshore Newfoundland construction program, onboard a dive support vessel. Position is temporary/project based, duration is approximately 50+ days. The project is expected to begin Early August.

All candidates require previous marine vessel experience, as well as the following minimum certification: Valid STCW Basic Safety, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Seafarer’s Medical, Vessel Security, First Aid, and WHMIS 2015. All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

3rd Engineer
Positions: 1onboard
The Third Engineer is responsible to the First Engineer for operations and maintenance of the engine rooms and propulsion equipment onboard.

Responsibilities:
Operation and maintenance of the Ship’s technical equipment according to the established operational and planned maintenance procedures
Carry out watch keeping duties as defined by the Chief Engineer’s standing orders under the direction of the senior watch keeper
Providing assistance to Deck Operations and Maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer
Oversee work carried out by engine room ratings and 3rd party contractors as required
Assist as required with bunkering the vessel when on duty
Assist in the training and familiarization of Fitters, Mechanics and Motormen in their department
Assist Chief Engineer in providing support to the Master in conducting “Shipboard Management Review” in accordance with the ISM Code

Qualifications / Education:
Officer of Engineering Watch Certificate of Competency in accordance with STCW Reg.III/1 meeting legislative requirements of the Flag State
Recognized Seaman's discharge book
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing in accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/I
Basic knowledge of Flag State Maritime Law / Legislation
Basic knowledge of ship's Safety Management System (Ref: ISM Code)
Completed Security Awareness training relevant for the position (Ref: ISPS Code)
Hold at all times a valid seafarer’s medical fitness certificate and offshore survival certification suitable for geographical area of work
Training in accordance with the Subsea 7 training matrices

Work Experience: 6 Months or more experience working on a large vessel with 50+ crew

Salary: Base Hourly Range: $35.00 – 37.00

Fitter

Job Duties

The Fitter is responsible for carrying out, under supervision, mechanical/hydraulic repairs and maintenance on a wide range of miscellaneous marine and engine room equipment ensuring that the work is carried out in a safe, effective and efficient manner. The Fitter will take instruction from the First Engineer for their day to day activities.

Responsibilities

Routine maintenance and repair of miscellaneous marine and engine room equipment as required
Operation of relevant equipment while on Company worksites
Standby duties during offshore operations
General engine room work as required
Daily report to the First Engineer
Follow up the PMS as required

Qualifications / Education

College-level Qualification/Certificate in mechanical/hydraulic engineering and/or completion of a recognized Apprenticeship in a relevant Trade
Training in accordance with the Subsea 7 training matrices
Valid Offshore Medical and Offshore Survival suitable for the geographical area of work

Work Experience: 6 Months or more experience working on a large vessel

Salary: Base Hourly Rate $36.00 – $ 37.44

Motorman

Number of Positions : 2 onboard +2 relief

The Motorman is responsible to the First Engineer for the maintenance and operation of the engine room equipment

Duties :

General engine room work and in other departments as instructed by the duty engineers
Maintenance in the engine rooms under supervision of the Engineer officers
Act as Engine Room Watch Rating
Cleaning and painting in the engine room
Assist in bunkering the vessel as required
Assist the First Engineer in their assistance to the Chief Engineer in supporting the Master in conducting ‘Masters Review’ in accordance to the ISM Code

Qualifications:

Engine Room Watch Rating Certificate (STCW III/4) or Certificate of proficiency as Able Seafarer Engine (STCW III/5), meeting legislative requirements of the Flag State
Recognized Seaman's discharge book
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing in accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/I
Completed Security Awareness training relevant for the position (Ref: ISPS Code)
Hold at all times a valid seafarers medical certificate and offshore survival certification suitable for geographical area of work
Minimum Engine Room Assistant Rating (ERA) COC with STCW 95 Endorsement
