Engine Room Operator
Levert Group - St. John's, NL
Casual

Levert is currently searching for an experienced Engine Room Operator.
Offshore regulatory certifications are a requirement for this role.
Comply with all client safety programs, policies, procedures including strict adherence to the permit to work system
Safe and efficient execution of activities (operation, maintenance, repair)
Troubleshoot, problem solve, plan activities to prevent problems occurring with the power plant, propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment. Including sewage treatment plant, HVAC, potable water, pneumatic systems etc.
Operate, maintain, repair engine cooling water systems, lube oil, and fuel systems
Ensure that operations do not exceed limitations of the unit or equipment
Daily detailed planning for all upcoming operations
Comply with client training, certification and competence requirements
Ensure all emergency equipment is in good condition and configured as required
Maintain all applicable reports and logs as required by supervisor
Maintain all relevant equipment and ensure maintenance is recorded
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and special projects on power plant, propulsion system, to prevent downtime
Perform daily inspections and planned maintenance
Maintain main engine log recording daily consumption
Inform supervisor and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect the safe operation of the rig
Carry out assigned duties in a safe manner according to client policies and procedures
Actively participate in safety meetings as required
Report any incidents, potential hazard or abnormal situations to supervisor and other department heads
Ensure that all relevant safety procedure and practices are adhered to
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for environmental protection
Meets the training requirements according to the applicable training matrix

Drug and alcohol screening is a requirement for this role.

Required experience:

2nd Class Marine Engineer
Experience working in an offshore environment
Must have all regulatory training required for offshore travel: (ie. BST, H2S Alive, CAPP Medical, WHMIS, Regulatory Awareness etc.)
