Shipboard Management Position

Chief Engineer, Intermediate

Horseshoe Bay

We are currently seeking applications from individuals interested in being considered for the Shipboard Management position of Chief Engineer, Intermediate at Horseshoe Bay.

The successful applicant is a passionate, innovative engineer who brings the technical, interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the experience required for safe and efficient management and operation of the ship's machinery and equipment. You will be committed to the Company's vision and values including safety, exceeding customer expectations and performance efficiency. Your experience will include proficiency with relevant operating systems and a demonstrated knowledge in safe work practices, leadership & development of employees and an understanding of financial and budget processes.

What's a Chief Engineer Intermediate? Is there another C/E on-board that he/she reports to? Some of these terms are very confusing.

I believe its BC Ferries reference to responsibility vs vessel size - like Bowen Queen I think is Intermediate Vessel, while Tachuk might be a Minor Vessel, and Spirit Class, a Major Vessel.

Thanks. Do the C/Es have pay grades that differ as per the size of the vessels?
