About us
Sealord is a global seafood enterprise with a world-wide fishing, processing and marketing network. Sealord retains its home base in New Zealand and has led the seafood industry in the careful and sustainable management of fish and seafood resources.

The New Vessel
This will be the first new vessel for New Zealand's deep water fishery in 20 years and will be our most advanced, efficient, versatile and sustainable vessel yet. The purpose-built vessel will be furnished with all the latest electronics and technologies; including Precision Seafood Harvesting systems, and she will have an extremely efficient main engine and componentry, including the ability to produce her own electricity via the winch systems.

About the role
As an engineer working on the new vessel you will have a minimum MEC 4 ticket or equivalent and will assist the Chief engineer with the mechanical and electrical performance of the vessel's propulsion, fishing, processing and ancillary systems, and will lead and manage the engineering crew. The role will also ensure all engineering functions are undertaken in compliance with OSH, MNZ, DNV, MPI requirements.

Who we are looking for
You will have a minimum MEC 4 ticket or equivalent with good machining and general engineering skills with a strong commitment to Health and Safety. This role will also require you to have sound knowledge of PLC controlled equipment and electrical problem solving skills. You will be committed to preventative maintenance systems and maintain a sound knowledge of internal and external trends pertaining to marine engineering operations.

You will be comfortable working in a demanding environment, using your multitasking abilities, adapting to new situations quickly and exercising sound judgement. You'll also need to have plenty of energy, a can do attitude and the desire to focus on problem-solving where required.
