This position reports to the Master.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Operating main engines, machinery and auxiliary equipment on the ship such as steering and deck machinery, motors, pumps and generators. Engine room watch, monitoring and noting performance of engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment; Inspect and conduct maintenance and emergency repairs to engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment; Maintain records.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:
SCTW Motor Certificate
Valid Marine Basic First Aid or Advanced First Aid and CPR
Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate
Proven track record in the marine sector
Valid Canadian Passport

The ideal candidate will have proven strong leadership skills, as well as a thorough understanding of pollution regulations and a commitment to safe work practices and procedures.

Preference will be given to applicants with aquaculture experience. A certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.
Salary commensurate with experience which includes a competitive health and dental benefit package.
