Contract

Ensuring own safe work environment and that of colleagues in the engine room.
Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant company’s (safety) guidelines and procedures
Ensuring timely (preventive and corrective) maintenance of machinery and equipment on board.
Ensuring compliance of (preventive and corrective) maintained machinery and equipment in accordance with company’s guidelines and procedures.
Diagnosing technical issues at machinery and equipment and advising Barge Master and Fleet Manager with regards to replacement / repair decisions.
Regularly inspecting and testing of machinery and equipment.
Administrating data in fleet management systems.
Proactive in identifying and preventing potential problems
Respect for Nature and Environmental Ethics
Assisting deckhand with preventative and corrective maintenance duties on deck.

Education
Grade 12 baccalaureate
Experience
Minimum 4 years experience on board marine construction/dredging equipment
Certification Requirements
4th class engineer or Engine Room Assistant certification
Preference given to B.C. Residents. Applicants MUST be Canadian residents as a minimum.
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-screen drug and alcohol test prior to hire.
