Chief Engineer – Second Class

About our client; Our Client is Ship Management and crewing company operating and managing a modem fleet of shuttle tankers. tugs and a bulk carrier

Responsibilities:

Report to the Chief Engineer;
Update Preventative Maintenance System;
Proper maintenance of all machinery;
Ensure proper round checks are carried out;
Keep track of all defects and repairs required;
Assist with the safe and proper operation of the propulsion and auxiliary machinery, prompt and precise response to the engine orders received from the navigating bridge;
Monitoring of bunkers and lubricants;
Safe and proper management of the Engine Room Department;
Ensure to follow all safety policies and procedures;
Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should hold Certificate of Competency as a Second-Class Marine Engineer.
Advance Oil Tanker Certificate
Previous experience working with a Preventative Maintenance System would be a definite asset.
Preference may be given to applicants with barge or cargo experience
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Team player
Experienced with Safety Management Systems
