The Compliance Engineer Regulatory Standards is responsible for the ongoing certification/compliance of Corvus products, development of product requirements based on class rules, and communication with class societies.

Responsibilities:

Assist and take the lead on product compliance process (including marine type approvals, UL, CSA certification).
Communicate product changes with class/regulatory groups.
Stay current with various regulatory and safety standards.
Maintain test records and organize the class submission documents for product type approval.
Advise on environmental and electrical requirements for new products.
Work closely with the system testing team to ensure tests and reports will meet the needs of compliance.
Develop product requirements based on class and regulatory rules.
Write complete and well-documented test plans and reports.
Other duties as required.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, Regulator Compliance,


Qualifications:

Engineering degree or similar, (in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) with experience in compliance, regulatory, or testing.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, and experience/skill in communicating complex ideas to a technical audience.
Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies would be considered an asset.
Strong organization and troubleshooting skills.
Able to work with little supervision over periods of time.
Experience in following areas considered an asset: marine industry, product development, battery systems or BMS.
