Wilson & Proctor Ltd. located in beautiful Victoria BC, is south Vancouver island's preferred diesel engine repair facility and sanctioned Cummins, International, & Detroit Diesel dealer. With 70 years in the industry, we are a growing company dedicated to providing our customers with the highest level of service and repairs.

We currently have an exciting career opportunity within our mechanical department for a Heavy Equipment / Commercial Transport technician as well as a qualified marine technician. Reporting to the service manager this position is responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diagnostics and repair of both mechanical and electronic diesel engines.
Utilize electronic diagnostic computers and software quickly and effectively
Commercial vehicle inspections , pre purchase and pre season inspection on marine only
General truck repairs and preventive maintenance
Keep accurate & detailed job reports, and advise service department on recommended or required follow up repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Red Seal Journeyman CT or HD Technician qualification.
Experienced in diesel engine diagnostics and repair.
Experienced working on all makes of on highway commercial vehicles.
Proficient operation of computers and diagnostic software. (specifically International, Cummins, and or Detroit Diesel)
Previous experience in the medium to heavy duty truck & equipment industry.
A valid BC commercial vehicle inspector certification would be considered a strong asset.
Must be organized & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skill
Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract. Class 1 or 3 would be considered a strong asset
