Marine Engineer

My client, a market-leading player in the marine industry, is looking for a Marine Engineer to join their team in Vancouver. This exciting opportunity offers an extensive global travel component (up to 75%). The Marine Engineer will review designs, write technical specifications, and provide technical support for the layout of marine equipment and mechanical system specifications, as well as assist with system commissioning and testing. The ideal candidate be highly organized and detail-oriented the ability to travel globally.

What the Marine Engineer does:

Writes technical specifications and reviews designs
Models combustion processes and develop P&IDs, PFDs, and related lists
Provides technical and design support of process equipment and mechanical systems
Completes process design and layout
Leads the writing of operation and maintenance manuals for crew members, revising as needed
Conducts regular shipyard inspections to ensure all equipment and systems are being accurately installed
Prepares and reviews project and proposal documentation
Travels to multiple work sites around the world

What is expected of you:

5+ years of relevant design experience within the marine industry
Degree in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, or Engineering Technology
Knowledge of specified marine equipment and experience with pump specifications and line sizing
Field work experience in design equipment specification and commissioning marine of industrial plants/processes
Strong understanding of AutoCAD
Excellent communication skills with the ability to complete a training program presentation
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time is mandatory
