Husky, Atlantic Region is currently looking for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the Mechanical & Process Engineering Team. General responsibilities include the development and implementation of mechanical modifications of the SeaRose FPSO. Providing both mechanical and process engineering assistance to the Maintenance, Marine, and Production groups within the Atlantic Region.
Specific responsibilities will include:

Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE) of several assigned topsides facility systems. Duties include:
Supporting procurement with selection and purchase of new or replacement equipment, piping and materials.
Troubleshooting equipment failures and operational upsets.
Stewarding non-standard operating procedures (NOPRAS).
Providing day to day operational and maintenance support for assigned systems.

Functioning in a multi-discipline engineering environment including activities such as:
Initiating a mechanical/process engineering modification.
Preparing project scopes.
Assisting with the detailed design and commissioning.
Helping to establish key operating targets through the established MOC process. Modifications could range from replacement in-kind equipment and piping to large scale projects involving consultants and multiple contractors.

Acting as technical resource to Main Power, Gas Compression, Rotating Equipment and Diesel Engines. This includes completing assigned maintenance work orders and preparing/revising operating procedures and other technical documents for assigned systems.
Participating in monitoring operation of major rotating equipment systems to maximize uptime.
Participation in Risk Analysis/PHA’s. Ensuring stewardship and closeout of all actions in Huskysafe and ATMS.
Participating in Emergency Response Team as assigned.
Attending shop visits to review progress on fabrication of mechanical items required under maintenance or capital work.
Developing work packs on smaller modifications and follow through with execution of projects.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical).
Member in good standing or eligible for Professional Engineer status with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering Operations and/or Rotating Equipment support role with solid understanding of Management of Change.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering role within the oil and gas or heavy industry sector.
Working knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
Strong knowledge of Rotating Equipment including Power Generators, Gas Compressors, Pumps, Engines, etc.
Knowledge of rotating equipment condition monitoring software.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information requiring detailed explanation and interpretation to staff, professional and business groups.
Proven skills in effectively managing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within time constraints.
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment that includes dealing with people from various disciplines. Also, work in partnership with others outside of the formal organization (eg. service providers, vendors, contractors), to achieve goals, and identify and resolve problems.
Problem-solving orientation to identify key issues and recommend appropriate solutions in a proactive manner.
Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines.

The following qualifications and competencies would be considered assets:
Experience with Hazards and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs).
Working knowledge of SAP.
Working knowledge of DNV, Transport Canada and CNLOPB rules and regulations.
Understanding of FPSO, Turret, and Marine Operations.
