Duties and responsabilities

Investigate, interpret and analyse source data (example piping and instrumentation diagrams, manufacturers manuals, illustrations and digital images);
Prepare draft and final documentation for broader publication through CSL on specific projects;
Ability with regards to writing material clearly and concisely, making sure it can be easily understood;
Ability to evaluate specific equipment technical specifications on its own as well as part of a global project;
Quality assurance of own work, OE maker work and that of external contractor work whilst adhering to specification requirements;
Ability to work to agreed timescales utilizing approved project procedures whilst maintaining a high level of quality;
Ability to provide work progress updates on projects for technical, cost, schedule and risk aspects;
Liaise with external vendors concerning the supply of equipment as well as any related technical inquiries;
Liaise with Clients concerning project requirements inclusive of regular contact to maintain communication with regards to project progress updates;
Contributes to improve processes, procedures and tools utilized by the department;
Manage/ Lead specific fleet projects as GTS/ project management & fleet efficiency team members;
Accomplish other duties as assigned.

Qualification and skills

College diploma for Canadian citizen / Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering for citizens of other countries (This is due to agreement at IMO level which agreed on College level study in Canada for Marine engineering certificate deliverance)

Chief Engineer or Second Engineer experience

Knowledge of marine systems including electric and electronic systems

Working experience with shipyards an asset

MO Office Suite knowledge and IT skills, an asset

7-10 years of pertinent experience preferred

Effective communication skills (verbal and written);

Team-player – able to work both individually and on a team (departmental) basis;

Quick learner and self-starter

Efficient time management skills - able to effectively prioritize tasks;

Ethical and accountable.

Flexibility to adjust to changing of schedule and priorities
