Well Boat Engineer

We are currently recruiting for the full-time position of Well Boat Engineer. Reporting to the Well Boat Captain, it is the responsibility of this position to operate and monitor the operation of a ship's mechanical equipment in accordance with Transport Canada Regulation and Mowi Canada West policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Make repairs as required to various vessel systems and associated equipment.
Maintain accurate equipment and maintenance logs, including fuel sounding and dirty oil records.
Become familiar with various pumping and electrical systems on boat.
Crew Change:
Clean engine room.
Clean cabin.
Report any current deficiencies and upcoming required maintenance.
Complete hand over notes.
Assist with vessel tie-up lines during arrival and departure.
Assist with deployment and recovery of catch net and bumpers.
Operate aft crane (during loading, offloading, and as needed).
Assist with set up and tear down of fish handling gear on deck.
Operate in accordance with vessel and MCW work Instructions and SOPs.

Preferred qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years as a Marine Engineer or motorman.
Forth-Class Engineer Certificate is preferred.
Electrical experience preferred.
Marine Medical and Marine Advanced First Aid.
BC Driver’s License.
Experience with preventative maintenance systems and software.
