Based in Campbell River, British Columbia, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the Maintenance for all Marine Services assets including tugs, barges, marine projects and Facilities. This position requires strong communication skills and an extensive knowledge of the marine industry and maintenance operations. The Maintenance Manager must also maintain an effective maintenance team that provides 24/7 coverage across multiple locations. This position will understudy the present incumbent for a few months for an effective knowledge transfer.
Manage and direct daily tug, barge and marine project asset maintenance activities.
Coordinate the needs for upcoming jobs and communicate these needs within the maintenance group to ensure assets are maintained and available where and when required to meet our customer’s needs.
Coordinate outside contractors including the production of quotes, the assignment of work and the follow up of completed work.
Manage Drydocks and vessel rebuild projects.
Responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of all reporting employees.
Support the company image as portrayed by the Senior Management group.
Work with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure they safety is an ever- improving culture.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Post-Secondary training in an Engineering or Maintenance related field strongly desired.
Strong organizational aptitude
Strong background in maintenance, preventative maintenance and/or Fleet Management
Fleet and staff scheduling experience
Knowledge of Marine Regulations and Regulatory compliance desirable.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to work effectively with others (internal and external)
Proficient in understanding and working with external contractors and marine operators
Broad knowledge of the marine industry and operating areas
Basics knowledge of the Company strategy and business model
