Second Engineer

DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detail oriented and client focused individual for the position of Second Engineer for a DP3 Construction Support Vessel with a 250T crane to work Offshore Atlantic Canada. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking seafarer who has the passion for a career at sea. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. Tasks can include, but are not limited to:

Carry out watch-keeping duties as defined by the Chief Engineers standing orders;
Assist with planned and unplanned maintenance of the mechanical installations onboard the ship;
Assisting with bunkering the vessel when on duty;
Ensure Engine Logbook and Oil Record Books are updated and kept in presentable manner

Requirements

Education and Certificate Requirements:

Post-Secondary Education in Marine Engineering (or equivalent);
Transport Canada Fourth Class/Third Class Engineer Motor-ship certificate;
STCW MED, BS, SC, AFF;
Marine Advanced First Aid;
Valid Seafarers Medical;
Valid Canadian Passport;
Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats would be considered an asset.

Experience / Knowledge:

Minimum of 5 years working on marine vessels in offshore industry;
Previous experience working on a Construction Vessel would be considered an asset;
A high-level knowledge of ISM, Transport Canada, MARPOL and all applicable legislative requirements for operating vessels in Canada;
Working knowledge with diesel electric propulsion;
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
Excellent communicator, both verbal and written;
Capable of discussing issues and topics of importance at every level;
Good organizational skills and ability to multitask

Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. DOF Subsea maintains the right to request a criminal background check as a part of the recruitment process.
