MARINE ENGINE MECHANIC - Temporary

Richmond -Fleet Maintenance Unit

We are seeking highly motivated, experienced and qualified Marine Engine Mechanics, preferably with marine engine and/or thruster experience to fill a position at our Fleet Maintenance facility in Richmond.

This position will support the refit and capital project requirements for our fleet of vessels and will be performing the following: services, repairs and refits vessel engines, systems and equipment including engine components, compressors and pumps; repairs and tests fuel injection systems, including pumps and injectors, relief and safety valves, cylinder heads, cooler cores, clutches and engine blocks; measures and inspects bearings, cylinders, pistons, and turbochargers; operates large and small mobile cranes, forklifts and winches. Provides a 'lead hand' role for new employees and helpers; and performs additional duties as required.

You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices and working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment You hold a relevant BC or Interprovincial Trade Qualification in one or more of the following trades: Heavy Duty Mechanic, or Millwright.
