Headquartered in Burnaby, B.C., Island Tug and Barge Ltd. (ITB), a subsidiary of Tidewater Canada Inc., is the West
Coast’s largest bulk transporter of refined petroleum products. Our services include bulk fuel transportation, specialty
towing and marine logistics. We are currently seeking a 2nd to 3rd year Red Seal Apprentice Millwright who will report
directly to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on
our fleet of tug boats and bulk fuel barges. The successful candidate will be required to work on hydraulic and pneumatic
systems and perform basic repairs on diesel engines, facility equipment and small engines. Responsibilities will also
include operating hoisting and lifting devices, such as chain blocks and jacks, and forklifts to position machinery and parts
during the installation, set up and repair of machinery. The successful candidate will be expected to operate machine tools,
such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during the overhaul, maintenance and/or set up of machinery.

Candidates for this position must be registered in the 2nd or 3rd year of the Apprenticeship Program. Candidates must have
excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong work ethic. They must possess the ability to read blueprints,
diagrams, schematic drawings and OEM manuals to determine work procedures. Additional consideration will be given to
applicants who have work experience in a marine environment and the demonstrated ability to work with minimal
supervision and organize and prioritize their work. Applicants must be capable of physically demanding work in all
weather conditions, including lifting and carrying 50+ lbs, and the ability to climb on tugs and barges. They will be
required to work with their own tools and be available to be called in 24/7 to assist with emergency repairs.
