Marine Atlantic - Leave System

Postby Sea Rover » Thu Sep 29, 2016 1:21 pm

Does anyone know what type of leave system Marine Atlantic offers to Engineers? I hear that its two weeks on/off and they don't pay any travel. If so, that probably explains why they are often looking for people.

I contacted them, it's 15 days on/off and they don't really pay for travel. Also, they won't let you do a 30 or 45 day rotation.

Too bad they 'wouldn't let'...
You'd think if both permanent 2nd Engs (for example) agreed they both wanted to do 30/30 they would accommodate... Can't see why that would be a problem.

I think its an effort to keep the benefits from the employment created by the ferry service confined to that region.
