Project Manager - Coastal Frigate Fleet

Reporting to the Branch Manager, Surrey Power Systems, the Project Manager - Coastal Frigate Fleet is responsible to oversee and manage the overall Product Support requirements as part of the Frigate Project for the Auxiliary Power, 20 gensets, on board the 5 Frigates stationed in Esquimalt. The incumbent will be responsible for managing all schedules and requirements for the overall maintenance and support of the gensets for customer. The Coastal Manager will be oversee the actual work performed and required for each maintenance cycle and work with our technical and training staff and military maintenance personnel while maintaining inventory and providing direction and support to Department of National Defence (DND) Esquimalt regarding the Frigate Auxiliary Power Installation.

Job Description: Major Job Functions:

Oversees and participates in the day-day operation of the maintenance of the 20 gensets on board the 5 frigates
Communicates and works with the customer such that the work plan is prepared and acceptable to customer needs and schedule, ensuring Finning safety standards are adhered to
Maintains and plans inventory to maintain the gensets.
Coordinates the schedules of maintenance individuals at Dept. of National Defence Esquimalt and fleet maintenance facility (FMF) as it pertains to the maintenance of the gensets
Coordinates shipping and receiving of parts for the gensets
Manages inventory levels of parts at fleet maintenance facility (FMF) and on board the vessels
Liaises with internal clients, service and parts, In Service Support (ISS) Project Manager and FMF and DND
Provides costing information to parts pricing for raw materials and assemblies
Coordinates service schedules with ISS Project Manager
Develops and maintains daily/weekly/monthly production schedules according to annual customer contracts and requirements
Participates as required in promotional events
Co-ordinates and schedules FMF Training Schedule

Specific Skills & Experience: Marine Engineering Technology Diploma preferred 5-10 years providing maintenance support for Diesel Gensets Minimum of 60 months within the last 10 years, providing maintenance support for diesel generator sets and/or diesel engines Minimum 24 months within the past 5 years supervising maintenance work for diesel generator sets We are committed to diversity at Finning, to building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce and as an equal opportunity employer we encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
