RINA is looking for a Marine Surveyor in Montreal.


Main tasks

Classification surveys of ships – new construction and ships in service
Surveying various types of maritime equipment, machinery and cargo-handling equipment
Surveys and certification on behalf of public and governmental authorities
Produce accurate and concise reports

Training and qualification

B.S. Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships

Professional experience

At least 5 years as class surveyor, of an IACS classification society. The candidate should be able to prove his/her past qualification trough a Qualification Status from the previous IACS company

Other information

Good communication skills
Ability to work in a team and on tight schedules
Eligibility to work in Canada
Ability to manage conflicts and to negotiate
Pro-active customer focused approach

At least 5 years as class surveyor, so no chance with somebody with no experience as surveyor even with 30 years ship's experience ?
