"Naval Engineering in Support of 21st Century Maritime Strategy"
8-9 April 2009
Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
National Harbor, Maryland

www.navalengineers.org/AD09.html

Symposium Overview

In response to evolving trends, our nation's Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard have jointly promulgated "A Cooperative Strategy for the 21st Century Seapower." The strategy envisions changes in the way our Sea Services are constituted, employed and sustained. It requires a high level of integration and interoperability among Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard forces, and it contemplates increased interoperability with maritime forces of other nations.

Join us at ASNE Day 2009 as we explore how these changes and related efforts are impacting naval engineering while answering the questions–what technical areas must be emphasized to enable and support this strategy, what are the implications for the way future naval engineers are educated and developed, and what improvements are needed in naval engineering tools and processes?

The dramatic waterfront facilities at the beautiful new Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center–across the Potomac River from Washington, DC–together with strong support from the Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps promise to make ASNE Day 2009 an unforgettable experience for attendees, exhibitors, speakers, authors and students.
