Failed Ship Side Spud

Someone had posted about ship side valves failing., or something along those lines.
I couldn't find these photos then, but here they are.
The first picture is of the failure of the spud piece between the ship side and overboard valve.
The second is the cement box in place.
Non-seagoing management can be unintentionally funny at times like this,. I was approached by a rather concerned individual who thought the ship was in danger. I told her it was just a matter of shutting the watertight door on that compartment, if it came to it,there was no machinery to speak about in the space. She walked away mystified at my unconcern. LOL
