Seems like nobody been missing me too much over here. Great to see ! The numerous discussions have been quite interesting and its neat to see the area be self sustaining with some great help from our long time contributors, thank you all!
I've been a bit overwhelmed these last six months as we had a a bit of a family medical issue. My eldest son, my 9 year old Olivier, underwent an MRI at Christmas time for an unrelated reason, and we ended up discovering a brain tumor instead. Since then we have been very busy getting use to the idea and of course involved in numerous health care system interactions. The tumor was successfully taken out last week by brain surgery at Vancouver's BC Children's Hospital, and we came home last Sunday. Unfortunately we've been in and out of the hospital in Nanaimo due to seizures as a result of the surgery.
The tumor has been completely removed, and was most-likely benign, although we are awaiting biopsy confirmation. It looks like we are emerging from the woods a bit. Although its important to not count our chickens before they hatch, I am breathing a little easier these days. If you would like to follow our journey, I've been posting tweets about it under my account - @dieselduckster, or do a Google search for #OPositive, which should result in all my tweets over the last two weeks showing up regarding our "adventure".
Combined these background events with a change of job from McKeil, to Ocean Group, and you can imagine its been a hell of a ride these last few months. I want to explain a bit my absence and express my gratitude for the continued support of this forum and the website.
Thank you all.
