We are working with an industry leading Superyacht Management company looking to recruit a Vessel Technical Manager. You will be providing technical management support to a range of vessels within their managed fleet. The role will ideally suit an ex-Marine Engineer Class 2, with experience of passenger vessel management, codes and classification.

What you will be doing:

Technical Management of a fleet of Superyachts, Passenger Yachts and Passenger Ships.
Ensuring adherence to all approved technical, safety and security procedures
Providing interpretation of Class Rules and other related regulations.
Managing Class society block fee agreements,
Monitor class survey schedules and requirements.
Liaising with attending Class and Flag surveyors
Promoting the effective use of the Planned Maintenance System and conditioning monitoring techniques.
Ensuring the PMS contains all flag, class, builders, manufacturers and company requirements.
Reviewing reported defects, analysing significant defects and introducing measures to prevent recurrence.
Managing dry docking and refits, creating refit specifications, shortlist suitable shipyards and managing the tendering process.
Monitoring refit costs, quality and schedules, providing support with warranty claims.
Providing continuous support in the event of technical difficulties, spares and service requests and emergency response team participation.
Providing general technical and commercial advice and guidance, assisting with Insurance Claims.
Ensuring an adequate fluid sampling and analysis programme is adhered to.
Ensuring yacht’s lifting gear is regularly inspected and certified.
Undertaking Technical Inspections on-board, ensuring all items raised during inspections are clearly reported and followed up.

What you will need:

At least 3 years’ experience as a shore side superintendent or in a similar technical yacht management role.
Considerable seagoing experience in an engineering capacity (minimum merchant Class 2 Level or equivalent)
Excellent knowledge of Classification, Flag, ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, Passenger Yacht or Large Yacht Code requirements.
To be willing and able to travel worldwide, working in a close-knit team to extremely high standards and strict deadlines.
