April Fools

Hi Guys!!
I just had to post this. I was reading the practical joke section of the officer lounge, and I saw the one about the radar calibration. April 1st was coming up and I just had to do this. In cooperation with the chief officer we planned to fool one of our deck cadets. As good preparation is key, I made an authentic work order from the PMS-system and the chief officer prepared some "advanced" calculations and formulas. The next step was to dress up the cadet in reflective foil and equip him with a SART and a radar reflector from the lifeboat. He was then positioned on top of the mid ship house and "the show was on". By using the UHF radio he was instructed to go to port & stb, raise and wave with the SART and reflector. To say the least, we had quite a good show. And of course it was well documented with photo and video.

Good one!
If he didn't show up as a target on the PPI screen he certainly showed up as a target for April first.
Bet that goes down in his history as a never to be forgotten happening.
New nick name maybe?

Target?

ROTFLOL - too funny. Its great to see that the alphabet soup hasn't worn out seafarer's sense of humour.

Thanks for that...
