I am contacting you to inform you of an event the UVic Submarine Racing Club is hosting this Saturday the 26th of May.
Members of the club worked extremely hard for 8 months designing and manufacturing the submarine from scratch, and we finally completed our ambitious project.
Last Thursday and Saturday we put the submarine in the water for our first test, and it was a HUGE success. Here I share with you a link to all our pictures and videos from both days:

DAY 1 contains incredible pictures, and DAY 2 has amazing videos of the submarine underway underwater.
Please feel free to use these pictures and videos for promotional purposes; however, if you do decide to use them please recognize our photographer (SANTIAGO GUTIERREZ PHOTOGRAPHY)
Next Saturday the 26th of May from 3:30-6 pm we are hosting an event at MAckinnon Pool located in UVic's Campus.
This event will be consisting on hosting members of the community and the marine industry including Babcock Canada, and SSi-Corporate.
We are also inviting local high schools and elementary schools in order to showcase the field of marine systems engineering and promote our club to future members.
Note: there will be a virtual reality tour of a ship beig set up by SSI-Corporate for your enjoyment.
We have recently confirmed the attendance of local and regional media including CTV and CHEK news to our event, who will cover a story about our club.
To put into perspective of the size of this event, we are expecting roughly 300 people to attend including high executives from the marine industry, specifically Babcock Canada.
The aim of this exposure to the public is to promote the field of Marine Systems Engineering here in Victoria, and expose the capabilities of UVic engineering students.
With this in mind, please feel free to circulate this invitation to everyone you know, and anyone interested in seeing how our human-powered submarine works.
Here I link you with our Facebook event page as well as all our social media and our sponsorship package for your reference:
I look forward to seeing as many of you at the pool this Saturday,
and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at any time through this email.
On another note, if you are interested in supporting the UVic Submarine Racing Club please send us an email with your questions and we will be more than happy to answer.
My best regards,
Manuel Dussault Gomez
