Volunteers Requested

I have recently started volunteering at Nottingham Industrial Museum, this was originally run by the Local Government, but due to funding cuts is being handed over to unpaid volunteers to run.
There are an interesting collection of old steam engines and other artefacts, which you can see on this link

https://www.nottinghamindustrialmuseum.org.uk/

For the last month I have been re building and overhauling an old Clayton E60 Steam Generator that was in pieces when I joined, and is supposed to supply all the steam to run the engines, we hope to rebuild it and get it past survey soon.

The Museum is very short of people with any technical knowledge and experience to operate and maintain the engines and Steam Generator, so if any readers of this site live in the English Midlands I would encourage them to come along for a visit, and consider becoming a volunteer.

Thanks for your support, there are plenty of volunteers for weeding round the outside of the building, and painting, but not many willing to heave on stilsons and get dirty.

Sounds like flogging spanner land to me.
Too far for me too though.
Still got some leads, engineers blue and 0-1 micrometer though if you get stuck.
All imperial mind ( including the leads mind )
Oh and most important of all?
An imperial bearing scraper, ( imperial because the horns are ground on a 6 inch wheel, not a m.m. one)
( For newer hands m.m. = Mickey Mouse )
But can you remember how to do it all though?
No sprayed on white metal jobby here.
Shells not invented yet.
