MONTHLY MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

This month's meeting feature a presentation by Miles McKinnon, Engineering manager for electrical and control systems for BC Ferries. He will talk about such systems as they are being built into the new Island Class ferries.
The presentation will provide an overview of marine hybrid propulsion system artchitecture, industry trends, and design considerations which are particular to the BC Ferries Fleet.
Members often arrive early to share a beverage with colleagues in the upstairs lounge.
Spouses and guests are always welcome at branch meetings.

The Vancouver Island Branch of the CIMarE is pleased to again invite members to a complimentary sit down pre-Christmas dinner at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club Thursday evening December 20, 2018. Your spouse, significant other or best friend is also invited. For additional guests there will be a nominal fee of $25 per guest.
Phil Dauphinee will soon be sending out the invitations which will request an RSVP reply.
Entries for the Annual Marine Photo will also be requested by Phil so start looking through your photos. The only criteria is that photos must feature a vessel of some kind. Phil has posted a bunch of his marine photos taken since last year to give you an idea.
