It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of a long standing and active member of our Vancouver Island Branch of the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering; John Pirquet.

Please join me in wishing his family our kindest regards at this time.

John was one of the original authors of Stand By, he served as Branch Chair and was a promoter of CIMarE. John worked hard to support our Branch, on committees and numerous Mari-Techs.

I will miss his comments and attendance at our events.
