We are looking for Senior Field Service Engineers to join our dynamic, safety-focused Marine Field Services team.

What Will You Be Doing

In this position, you will lead and perform Field Service activities (such as overhauls and repairs) on our modern, 4-stroke marine diesel and dual fuel engines. For us to be the best match, we expect you to have technical experience in medium speed reciprocating engine repair and overhaul, as well as knowledge of fuel management systems and engine electrical systems. You will also have a safety-first attitude.

As a for Senior Field Service Engineer, 4-Stroke, you will focus on these responsibilities:

· Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan on modern marine diesel and dual-fuel engines.

· Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium speed engines.

· Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.

· Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work, in conjunction with the Field Service Superintendent.

· Create the Service Work Reports.

· On smaller to medium sized projects, you will provide technical guidance to both Service Engineers and Customers on how to properly use products or systems under their care and respond appropriately to customer inquiries or complaints by providing clear explanations, reassurance, or resolution options as needed.

· Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.

· Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.

· Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

· Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience.

· Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul with practical problem-solving skills.

· Experience in working with electrical and control systems beneficial.

· Proven experience in installation operation, maintenance, and repair.

· Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.

· Interested in traveling 75% of the time.

Wärtsilä Engineers work remote and are not required to perform office and/or workshop duties when not on assignment.
The hourly wage amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, RRSP plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company.

Please outline your experience with troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of 4-stroke engines? What kind of work did you perform on them (top-end, in-frame, pistons, liners, bearings, valves etc.? What brand and type of engines? Power ratings (>1MW, etc). Were you part of a team? Did you lead these teams occasionally? Did you travel a lot, staying at jobs for weeks at a time?
