Dear participants,

Over the last days, Canada has implemented measures to contain the COVID-19 virus. One of the measures identified by the Public Health Agency of Canada was to conduct risk assessments when determining the public health actions related to mass gatherings. Further to the assessment, TC has decided that it would be best for the health and safety of CMAC participants and other Canadians to cancel the spring 2020 National CMAC, which was scheduled to take place April 15th to 17th, at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa Ontario.

The fall 2020 National CMAC meeting is still scheduled for November 17th to 19th at the Shaw Centre.

Even though the spring 2020 National CMAC meeting is cancelled, Transport Canada is developing ways to consult with stakeholders by using other means such as WebEx, teleconferencing, videoconferencing. We are planning to have consultation sessions on the following topics in and around the April 15-17 dates:
1) Marine Pilotage Regulations
2) Vessel Certificates Regulations
3) Safety Management Regulations
4) Vessel Construction and Equipment Regulations

An email with information on the date and times of the sessions and how to register, will be sent out at a later date.

I understand that this cancellation may cause some inconvenience and disruption for you and I sincerely apologize for that.

If you have any questions regarding this message, please email [email protected].

Chers participants,
