LeeWay Marine is the leading marine services company in Atlantic Canada, operating fully crewed vessels to support all ocean going sectors. Our company is built on the fundamental principle that knowledge drives success.

We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified marine engineers (3rd class, 4th class, and oiler), for upcoming work in Atlantic Canada, the Arctic and North Eastern US.

NOTE: THERE IS NO PLANNED START DATE FOR THIS POSITION. CONTRACT LENGTH WILL VARY. QUALIFIED APPLICANT INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT IN A RESOURCE POOL FOR FUTURE AVAILABILITY.

Responsibilities:

Monitor performance, maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment

Ensure that proper engine room watchkeeping arrangements are in place
Ensure that the vessel’s maintenance program is implemented and maintained

Distribute work assignments, supervision, training, familiarization and conduct performance appraisals of engine room personnel

Ensure that adequate engine room stores, supplies and spare parts are available on board for the intended voyage

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent
Valid STCW Engineering Endorsement
STCW Basic Safety
STCW Survival Craft
STCW Advanced Firefighting
Valid and Unlimited Transport Canada Marine Medical
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate software applications relevant to position
Proven track record of relevant offshore experience in the marine sector
Ability to read, write, and understand English
French fluency considered an asset
Valid Canadian Passport
