MARINE CREW: Polar Prince
Duration of Project: seasonal/contract: June through October 2022 on rotation
Location: Atlantic Canada and Canadian Arctic
Miawpukek Horizon Maritime Services Ltd. is currently accepting qualified Marine Crew, in connection with its vessel, the Polar Prince for the upcoming mission to the Canadian Arctic.
The scope of work will include trips around Atlantic Canada and north to Hudson Bay from June to October this year. The expeditions will provide innovative and educational programming while contributing to initiatives to combat climate change, advance ocean conservation efforts, and support indigenous led research, outreach and media.
Crew can expect to work at minimum a 6-8 week rotation during the voyage period, or longer if preferred.
We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Second Engineer
Must hold a minimum of STCW 2nd Class Motors, Unlimited certificate of competency
Third Engineer
Must hold a minimum of STCW 4th Class Motors, Unlimited certificate of competency
Watchkeeping Mate
Must hold a minimum of STCW Watchkeeping Mate, Unlimited certificate of competency. Must hold a minimum of Basic Polar Water Certification
Chief Cook
Must hold a minimum of a Ship’s Cook certificate and 2 year’s experience working in a Chief Cook position offshore, managing a POB of 50+
AB
Must hold a minimum of STCW Bridge Watch Rating
Steward(ess)
Must have previous experience working in a similar position offshore
Minimum Mandatory Training Requirements:
CoC Certificate of competency for position
STCW Basic Safety
STCW Proficiency in Survival Crafts other than Fast Rescue Craft
STCW Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities
Valid Transport Canada issued Seafarer Medical
Marine Basic or Advanced First Aid
WHMIS 2015
Valid passport
