Nanzu Demolition & Environmental Ltd. operates the Ferry on McKenzie River, NWT for the Government of NWT.
They are recruiting for a Marine Engineer and a Marine Captain to fulfill the duties outlined on the attached job description.

The anticipated date to start work is June 1, 2022.
There is a Two week work break in August (travel expenses paid) Covid 19 protocols will be in effect. Quarantine is not required at this time. Employee may have the option to work through the entire season.
The end of operating season is usually around mid-November depending on weather and ice conditions.

Marine Engineer
Qualifications: 4th Class Marine Engineering Certificate or equivalent that meets Transport Canada requirements for the installed horsepower.

Required certifications: Marine Emergency Duties Certificate, Valid Marine First Aid Certificate and Valid Medical Examination Certificate

Rate of pay: Dependent on experience. Overtime after 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. Statutory holidays are paid according to Labour Standards. 4% vacation paid out each pay period.

Regular Shifts: 8 hours per day, seven days a week.

Meal allowance working on Ferry: $75.00 per day. Responsible for grocery shopping and meal preparation.

All travel expenses paid in May, August (for break) and November for return home.
If an employee does not complete the work term (June to November) the travel expenses could
be prorated and deducted from the final pay.
