Position overview:

As an integral member of our ASSET Reliability Division, your role will include performing equipment and facility condition inspections, compiling and writing reports, and preparing drawings, estimates, and proposals. This position involves occasional travel to job sites on a short-term basis to perform inspection work and requires the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering consultants. The position also involves performing engineering and design for a variety of projects often related to the inspection work being performed.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will be a youthful, dynamic, and self starting professional who enjoys industrial field-work and interaction with people, and possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with EGBC.
Five to ten years of relevant design experience in the heavy industrial sector including conveying systems, bulk loading and unloading equipment, and other process equipment.
Experience conducting inspections and repairs at ports, marine terminals, and mines for a range of bulk material handling equipment.
Experience working on-site or in the field
A natural ability to take on a leadership role and mentor junior engineers and designers both on-site and in an office setting.
Must be familiar with AutoCAD
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
Strong attention to detail.
A valid BC driver’s license.

Skills considered an Asset:

A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants including writing technical reports and memorandums.
Experience with SolidWorks and other 3D software
Preferably a familiarity with CEMA and Conveyor Design
