Duties and responsibilities

Monitor vessel commercial performance against the charter party requirements, including speed, fuel consumption, cargo lift and port performance. Investigate any shortfalls with Master and/or vessel managers;
Communicate trade and cargo information to assigned vessels; assist in resolving issues. Review schedule to identify issues. Track voyage status;
Compile, review and record all necessary operational information for voyage invoicing and accounting (laytime, fuel, deadfreight);
Communicate ETAs and related information to customers and ports;
Review Voyage P&L at the end of each voyage and reconcile all necessary items including fuel, laytime;
Maintain communication / relationship with voyage related suppliers (Docks, Agents, Tugs, etc...);
Contributes to improve processes, procedures and tools utilized by the department;
Accomplishes other duties as assigned.

Qualification and skills

1-5 years of relevant experience;
College diploma in Transportation and Logistics or equivalent marine experience;
Operational experience is an asset;
Experience in the shipping industry is required;
Logistics optimization, an asset;
Great Lakes trades experience, an asset;
Team worker;
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English and French;
Self-driven and problem solver, interested in personal learning and skills sharing;
Strong attention to details and information quality;
Capable of working under pressure and with minimum supervision;
Provide weekend vessel operations and on-call 24/7 phone support on a rotating schedule;
Customer-oriented and innovative;
Understanding of maritime concepts and maritime terminology;
Good computer skills;
Ethical and accountable.
