Intent of the process

The current need is to fill one (1) position on a indeterminate basis.

This process could be used to staff similar or identical positions with different profiles and durations at the Canadian Coast Guard for locations in Quebec City (QC) and Sarnia (ON).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
➤ A secondary school diploma

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
➤ Experience in managing or supporting the management of financial resources
➤ Experience in human resources management
➤ Experience making recommendations to senior management on operational issues, both orally and in writing (senior management is at the Superintendent level or above)
➤ Experience in the duties performed in emergency management
If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION
➤ Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position

Degree equivalency

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:
➤ Possession of a Transport Canada marine certificate of competency as a deck officer of the watch, engineering officer or higher
➤ Response Command System 200 or higher
➤ Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Environmental Response Officer qualification

EXPERIENCE:
➤ Experience performing regulatory, contingency planning or response functions under either the Canadian Marine Pollution Preparedness and Response Regime or the Marine Incident Response Regime
➤ Experience as a member of a control team or as a participant in tabletop or field exercises with other government departments, partners or stakeholders
➤ Experience in entering into contractual agreements during a federal public service emergency
