Bring your vision, leadership and strategic planning skills to this important role

The Executive Director manages the Coastal Ferry Act and Services Contract for provision of the Core Services on the Designated Ferry routes. The Executive Director also ensures the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of ministry licensed vessels and cable ferries operated through contracted services and oversees the planning, development and delivery of ferry-related capital construction and rehabilitation programs.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Education/Experience:

A degree in a related discipline (i.e., Engineering, Business Communications, Commerce, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing frequent, high-profile issues affecting large numbers of diverse stakeholders province-wide.
Experience setting policy direction for the organization with regards to a portfolio or line of business.
Considerable high-level experience (5-7 years) in the area of strategic and business planning, policy and program development.
Experience developing, interpreting and applying legislation and regulations.
Experience providing direction and advice on the implementation of major government and ministry-wide initiatives.
Experience representing government in a high profile environment.
Experience allocating funds and monitoring outcomes.


PREFERNCE STATEMENTS:

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in a transportation related organization.
