We are looking for a Experienced Field Service Engineer, specialising in separation equipment. The work will be mainly on High-speed separators & Decanter centrifuges, supporting our customers on site processes and operations in New Zealand.

Overnight stays can be regular occurrence as part of this role, as well as working across both islands from time to time.

Who You Are

You will have Trade relevant Mechanical engineering qualifications – Fitter, Fitter machinist, Mechanical engineer. With proven, hands-on, post qualification experience. Assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.
Have excellent organisational skills to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.
You will be a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers equipment and processes.
Be confident & self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported.
Able to follow direction and instructions with ease.
You have a good level of physical fitness.
You must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company’s digitalisation journey.

About the Job

Your duties will include:

Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Alfa Laval Decanter centrifuge & High-speed separators.
Help pass on your knowledge & skills to help mentor and build our junior engineers’ competencies.
Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings.
Compiling of technical service reports & commissioning documentation.
Process optimisation & compiling of process data sheets.
Work to high level of H&S – Compiling & working to JSEA’s. SWMS, permit to work, Take 5 etc
The satisfaction of keeping equipment running reliably with happy customers.
The diversity of working on customers site, equipment and application types compared to being rigidly located on one site.
A combination of regional, interstate, and local metro work.

What you Know

Experienced in Mechanical fundamentals.
Experience with commissioning of High-speed separators and Decanter centrifuge machines.
Experience in servicing process equipment installed in critical applications like Marine, Brewing, Wastewater, Mining, Rendering, VOT, Oil & Gas
PLC Control systems experience would be highly advantageous – Siemens, Allen & Bradly, 2 Touch, Plus, Basic, DCC, EPC 50/60.Communication with customers systems.
Electrical troubleshooting experience would be highly advantageous (but not essential)
Australian connect/disconnect license
You will require a full driving license for this position.
Have good English language and writing skills.
Have good PC skills – Word, Excel, Lotus Notes.
Ideally have an Industry white card – But not essential.
Ideally have a fork truck license – But not essential.
Ideally have Dogger or rigger ticket – But not essential.
Ideally have confined space ticket – But not essential.
Additional experience with Welded & Semi-welded Plate heat exchangers and CIP procedure would be advantageous.
Reading Plate heat exchanger plate specification drawings to ensure correct assembly would be advantageous
