Job Purpose

This position involves approximately 50% travel to customer sites in Western Canada. The ideal Candidate would live in British Columbia, Alberta or Saskatchewan approximately 1 hour or less away from a major airport.
Key Accountabilities

Assist customers on best coating and painting application practices.
Generate and maintain accurate records and applications reports of company products. This includes day to day environmental conditions as well as surface preparation and relevant coating application information.
Attends scheduled inspections; verify specification and standard adherence, perform quality checks of surface preparation, and the application steps in the painting process.
Participates in the selling process by assisting with product trials.
Monitor customers/applicators in the proper application of coatings and paint systems in accordance with company specifications.
When conditions are identified not within company specifications or application guidelines, advise the customer and or applicator and their immediate supervisor to acquire resolution. When conditions are not resolved to meet specification document accordingly with exception report.
Troubleshoot customer application issues.

Level of Autonomy

This is a role that requires the job holder to make all day-to-day decisions independently. The job holder will be advising customers on the use of AkzoNobel brands. The TSR helps the customer, achieves expected results on time, Understands the need to learn and keep abreast of technology, is open to new ideas and fulfills the responsibilities of the job independently and professionally with the support of the team when needed. Their input helps AkzoNobel’s decision to move forward with a new product or brand launch in the market.
Requirements

Knows coating application, techniques and parameters for Heavy Industrial, Oil and Gas industry (3 to 5 years preferred)
NACE I,II or III (Preferred all may apply)
5 years basic technical/sales experience
Good computer skills, well versed in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and is computer litterate enough to navigate user friendly web based programs.
Approximately 50% travel required. Must be able to travel to the USA.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
Must be able to climb very tall ladders
Must be able to go into tight fitting/enclosed spaces.

Compensation

Annual base Salary of $80,000.00 to $95,000.00
15% Bonus based on personal and corporate performance
Vehicle Allowance of $800/monthly + KM reimbursement
3 weeks vacation + 5 personal/Sick days + company determined floater days.
