Duties:
The Marine Engineer operates main engines ensuring that all auxiliaries, pumps, ventilating fans, steering motors, and furnaces are functioning in a safe and efficient manner. The Marine Engineer inspects repairs and maintains the mechanical and electrical equipment on the ferries. The Marine Engineer also assumes duties related to the Mate including arranging vehicles and/or cargo on deck, collecting tickets where applicable, and ensuring that the boat is clean at all times. The crews on the ferry work 12 hours shifts to support 24 hours operation, 365 days a year.

Qualifications:
Grade 10. A Continued Proficiency 4th Class Ministry of Transport Marine Engineer Certificate or equivalent (Small Vessel Machinery Operators License) with three years mechanical experience. Certificate of Medical examination of Seafarers Regulations. A valid Marine Emergency Duty Certificate is required. Offer of employment is conditional upon the completion of all applicable background checks and confirmation of credentials, the results of which must be satisfactory to the employer or will result in termination of your employment.

Pay Grade: MOS 13

Salary Range: $40,435 - $41,530
