Hi

From approx 1940s thru to the 1990s Mr Robert H. Macy operated in Mississippi (Pascagoula), and other places, as a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer.

He produced many marine ship designs etc and marine related books, including on safety etc. Worked at sometimes with Ingalls Shipbuilding (was Chief Planning Engineer their in 1945+) and worked a lot for 'Robert Macy and Associates' out of Pascagoula.

I would like to locate any info on him including a biography of his career. Also would there be archives somewhere of his projects.

Any leads for info would be most appreciated.

Hi Everyone

Still trying to locate information on the Macy papers/archives etc and where they might be located. Seems he was pretty well known in the South and when he passed away as he had no family, where would the papers etc have gone for history's sake ? He was a long time resident of Moss Point.

Check with your relations etc who were in the shipbuilding industry a that time. One project he Ingalls diesel locomotive known as the Ingalls 4-S. Documents for this project may be in a separate place!

Keep an ear to the ground for me.

Thankyou

Charles

Did you try SNAME? They may have an index of his writings.

This lady may have worked with him:

The magazines he had articles in would have their archives.
