As a Maintenance Tech you will ensure our mechanical systems and equipment is safely and effectively maintained in line with Terra Nova expectation. You will collaborate with other team members aboard our Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, ensuring safe and efficient operations. During times of FPSO disconnect from offshore mooring systems you will fill the role of Second Engineer fulfilling watchkeeping duties as per marine certification and reporting to the Chief Engineer.
Minimum Requirements:

Five or more years of marine experience in an industrial environment, preferably in an offshore oil and gas environment
Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Certificate (Motor) with STCW endorsement
Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Endorsement
Valid Marine Emergency Duties Certificate (MED for senior officers – MED D)
Working knowledge of regulatory and industry codes applicable to the mechanical and marine discipline
A valid refrigeration handlers’ certificate, experience with SAP maintenance Management system and High Voltage Safety Training (Marine) would be advantageous
Experience with the operation and maintenance of gas turbine driven generators, diesel engines, multi-stage centrifugal pumps and compressors, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems and associated auxiliary equipment


Responsibilities:

Maintain the integrity and perform safe and efficient maintenance of all mechanical systems and equipment
Respond quickly and effectively to problems and breakdowns
Capture data in support of equipment condition monitoring
Plan, coordinate and communicate daily mechanical maintenance activities
Adhere to the permit to work system while carrying out maintenance activities
Participate as a part of an offshore emergency response team

Location and other Key Details:

You will work onboard the Terra Nova FPSO, transportation to / from the FPSO is provided from St. John’s, Newfoundland
As this an offshore position, you will be required to maintain mandatory training and certification for continued offshore work
The shift schedule is a 21 days on / 21 days off rotation, 12-hour shifts
This position is safety sensitive
Pay rate in accordance with Appendix A of the Collective Agreement between Terra Nova Employers’ Organization and Unifor Local 2121
Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position
This position will remain open for applicants until August 4th, 2023
